So, I figured this was a good enough title...It really doesn't have anything to do with what I write, but I think it's funny that the hales have these signs posted at every entrance. I think everyone got the message though... Every boy that enters the hale gets a little nervous I think, so they yell (well most of them yell) "Man in the Hale!" to warn any girls who may be coming out of the shower that they are in danger of a very akward towel moment. It's the ones that say nothing that everyone worries about... Anyhow, life is pretty darn good round here! Got a new job, with better pay, and I can pick my own hours! Stoked about that. Taking three classes for the next six weeks... not extremely excited about that.. David left yesterday to go to Tonga, I miss him a little. It's nice to know I've got someone to count on. But, he did tell me that I have BYUH brothers who I can call at anytime if I need someone. (AKA his friends who are still here) Who knew that I had polynesian family? :) This morning we had the loudest thunder storm I have ever heard in my life! I shot straight up in bed and let out a little yelp when the hale shook and the lightning lit up my room. It was crazy, and scary. I do not consider myself a wuss, but this one made my heart beat a little faster. Not to mention my shower this morning where the lights went out in the middle. (THAT's fun :) I do not get a roomate for this next term, and unfortunatley my room has come to that point where my laundry travels from one place to the other during different times of the day. At night it is on my chair or the desk so I can get some sleep, and then in the morning it is back on my bed so I can find clothes to wear for the day. One day I think I shall wash them... Homesickness has set in a bit. It's strange that it shows up six months into my journey, rather than the first few weeks. Guess I have slow emotional reactions... ;) My roach problem seems to have calmed way down, at least in my room. The other morning I got up at five am, and went to the kitchen and turned on the light... Then I saw two HUGE roaches under the counters in the kitchen, let out a little mental scream..Looked on the counter, two of them came out of the dish drying rack, scream again... One came out of the sink, one behind the toaster... Mental screaming my head off! Ran back into my room and shut the door... (Like that would save me or something ) It's kind of like those scary movies where they look one direction and see something scary and the erie music starts, then they look another direction and there's more things that are scary and the music gets more intense... ya, if life were like a movie, that's how the music would have gone down in this situation.
Everyone at BYUH has abandoned ship for summer so we have like 1/2 the ammount of students that we usually do. It's sort of lonesome! But that's ok, I am just fine rooming by myself for the moment! Figured out that buying a gallon of icecream actually costs less than a gallon of milk. I think I'll take that trade!
Here's a fun new game I learned how to play! It's called the paper bag game!
1. You take a paper lunch sack and open it up and sit it on the ground, opening up.
2. Everyone takes a turn trying to grab the bag in their mouths, but the only thing that can touch the ground is the bottoms of your feet, and you can only use your mouth to retrieve the bag. Needless to say, you need to be a little flexible.
3. So after you pick up the bag, you tear off the piece that you bit (no swappin spit) and replace the bag for the next player
4. After everyone takes a turn, tear off the first layer all the way around the bag under where everyone ripped, so the bag is about 1-2 inches shorter.
5. Round two starts, and the game continues like that and eliminates people who cannot reach the bag.
6. Eventually you get the bag down to barely anything, and the last person who can reach it wins.
This game got a little intesnse though. The girls got eliminated about half way through, so the boys went on for the battle to the death (we were down to 2 contestants). Eventually the bag was down to just the flat paper on the bottom, and both of them could still reach it. So, we had to find some way to put the bag lower than the ground. So, they each tried to get it while the bag was in the gutter, and they were standing on the curb. Suprisingly, someone won. Pretty fun game. Great for family night.
Also, learned the joys of sand boarding. (Jumping on a boogie board while going down a sand hill) That was memorial day fun!
Wednesday was my last final, and I actually talked my professor into raising my grade from a c to a b. I was definitley in the right though... It could also have been that I annoyed her so much, she decided that changing it would be better than arguing anymore! Not my usual practice, but effective!
So, that's whats been going on with me! I feel like blogs are sometimes comepletley self centered... Always about "I" or "me" and stuff... Oh well!
Love to most, like to the rest!
